The Property:
It has a cosy romantic feel with modern facilities and a comfortable double bed. In addition it has an attractive kitchen area with gas hob, microwave and fridge, and a spacious en-suite shower room. It also has a wood burning stove and electric radiator for early and late season lets. This chambre d'ami is upstairs (over storage barns) and has a pretty, secluded terrace, with covered area and garden furniture, overlooking the gardens, woodland and pool.
Guests have use of the pool and the sun terrace, overlooking the meadow and lovely wooded valley. The utility room, with washing machine and dryer, and good quality bikes and tandem are also available to guests. We also have good quality road and mountain bikes and a mountain bike tandem which guests are welcome to use. There is also a utility room, with a washing machine and dryer. Babysitting can be provided on request.Rental charges include all bed linen and towels but guests are requested to bring their own swimming towels. Cots and highchair are available on request at no extra charge. Rentals are from 5pm Saturday to 10am Saturday. Prices include gas, electricity and water but logs and heating for early/late season rentals will be charged at cost.
The property can be rented with our La Grange (sleeps 6 + cot), increasing the capacity to 8/9 + 2 cots.
The grounds:
We have an 8m x 4m x 1.25m (fenced) swimming pool with large sun terrace, equipped with sunbeds and sun umbrellas, overlooking our meadow and wooded valley. This is a perfect pool for young swimmers to learn in, and the rest to chill out in. You can, of course, just relax in the garden, watch the birds and wildlife, play petanque or badminton, swim, read, enjoy the silence and return home totally chilled out.
Nearby:
We are centrally sited between Bergerac and Perigueux for visitors wishing to explore the pleasures of the Perigord, with a excellent train service to Bordeaux from the station at Mussidan. The vineyards of Bergerac and St. Emilion are within easy reach, as are the many caves, chateaux, bastides and medieval towns for which this area is famous. For the more athletic this is ideal country for walking, horse riding and cycling (VTT routes at all levels nearby, perfect terrain for touring and training). Canoeing is available on the many rivers in the area and there are some excellent fishing lakes nearby. There are also several good golf courses in the region and leisure lakes with beaches, pedalos, watersports, swimming, water slides and quad bikes. Mini golf and bowling are near to the large shopping centre in Bergerac, there are several boat trips on the Dordogne (and other rivers) and you can go to a market on any day of the week.
