The Property:
There are wonderful views over our meadow and the Dordogne valley. The house is beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped.
The spacious comfortable sitting room seats 9, it has 3 large comfy sofas and a huge traditional open fireplace. There is a 14" television with DVD player - not connected to French signals - and a CD / tape player. The walnut chest contains a range of games and jigsaws.
The large, more formal dining room seats ten in style around a huge French oak table. The well-equipped kitchen has a full size cooker, dishwasher, large fridge and microwave oven as well as the usual facilities, it opens onto the garden and the utility room which houses a top loading washing machine. We have equipped the house with an abundance of crockery, cutlery and glasses - for all occasions - picnicing, the garden and formal dining. Stairs rise from the sitting room to the four bedrooms, two double, one twin and one single with pull out second single bed. There is a bathroom with shower, bidet and basin and separate toilet.
Please note that our change over day is Sunday - this has distinct advantages when travelling as only refrigerated trucks are allowed on the autoroutes on Sundays, making the roads much less busy - particularly important in the summer months. If you prefer to fly, Bergerac is a little over an hour from the house, Flybe and Ryanair both fly into Bergerac daily - Limoges and Toulouse airports are also fairly close.
Cleaning for this property is carried out at the end of every stay.
Bed Linen and bathroom towels are provided - please bring your own towels for swimming. Please note that whilst children are welcomed, we cannot accommodate pets and that guests are asked not to smoke in the house.
The grounds:
The grounds comprise of about two and a half acres with meadow, woodland area and a large fenced garden. The new 10m x 5m salt purified swimming pool is in the fenced garden, and is separately fenced for added security. We are at the top of a hill and there are lovely views, walking through the wooded area is beautiful in all seasons. We also have a small barn on the property. In the garden you will find a large barbecue and ample garden furniture to help you enjoy the views.
Nearby:
Should you tire of lazing in the garden or swimming in the pool, there is plenty to do close by, we are within walking distance of the river, a shrine and Chateaux de Fenelon. Other activities include canoeing down the Dordogne, visiting the numerous chateaux, exploring the local grottos, viewing cave paintings, discovering the charms of the local towns and villages or simply sampling the delights of the local restaurants.
