We have a cot, high-chair and baby bath available for families with small children. We have contact with a local, English babysitting service. Pillows and duvets (including duvet covers) are provided. Our guests normally bring their own sheets and pillow cases, but we can provide these for a small charge (For those arriving by plane, we will provide towels). We provide a wide range of books, videos, games and bikes. For more serious cyclists mountain bikes can be hired at the Mini-golf. There is ample parking, at the rear of the Old Bakery and in our field. We can provide details of discounted ferry travel. In our later information we include details of routes from various ferry ports, and further information on local attractions.
The grounds:
The Old Bakery garden has two patios with chairs and tables for outside eating and barbecues. There is convenient parking at the rear of the house as well as in our field. Access to washhouse with front-loader washing machine, woodshed and bike store. Paths lead from this garden directly to the enclosed pool and lawned area. The pool measures 9 by 4 metres, with a Roman D and steps at one end. The depth is 1.5m, with no deep or shallow ends. With the solar heating, the pool has been used from May to October, although we cannot guarantee the temperature level in the early and late season! The pool is enclosed and access from the gardens is via gates. There are loungers, chairs, tables, parasols and gazebos for shade. At night the pool can be lit by an underwater lamp. We have a wide range of planters and pots with an abundance of flowers around the pool. In the large grassed area (not quite a lawn yet, but we are getting there!) beyond the pool area, a variety of games and activities are available e.g. football, badminton, basketball, swings & slide. The area is even long enough to practice the odd golf swing! Across the road from the end of the field is the Mini-golf, open in summer season.
